So, Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2016. Very simply, THIS is the most amazing and exciting news I’ve ever shared, ever. I’ve been named by New York based magazine Rangefinder as one of their ’30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2016′ in the entire world. To receive an email out of the blue from these guys telling me I was nominated was one very proud moment, but to be included in the final 30 published names is something completely different. Completely off the scale, my biggest accolade to date, and I still can’t quite believe it.
Rangefinder is an international magazine for Wedding and Portrait photographers, and the official magazine of the WPPI – who hold the largest photography conference in the world in Las Vegas each year. It’s also one of the most respected publications in the industry. Each year the team of editors receive nominations from industry leaders for talented wedding photographers worldwide, before agreeing on around 200 and inviting them to submit a portfolio of work. Submissions are scrutinised by the panel of editors and industry insiders before finalising a list 30 individuals who show a solid understanding of light, composition and emotion, all displayed through their very own unique honed style. This annual list has been a source of inspiration for many, including myself, and it’s THE list to be on. Being recognized as amongst the best emerging talent in the industry today means the world to me. And then some.
A huge thank you to Rangefinder magazine, friends and family who’ve continuously supported me, my amazing photographer and industry friends, Junebug Weddings, and, of course, all of my couples for trusting me to document one of the biggest days of their lives.
And a massive congratulations to everyone else on this years list, as well as previous winners Sam Docker, Dark Roux, Nordica, and The Twins – to name just a few of the people who have inspired me through their work. Head over to Rangefinder to see the full list of winners.
Ok, finish! Here’s the portfolio I submitted. Excuse me while I pop a bottle of the good stuff!
